PHOENIX, AZ – Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) today announced a partnership providing financial and recreational assistance through entertainment events to Sailors, Marines, and their families.
The partnership between the two non-profits will allow individuals involved with the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society to use Vet Tix and its service, while many Vet Tixers will in return have the opportunity to learn about and take advantage of NMCRS’ programs and services. NMCRS provides a wide range of financial, educational and other need-based assistance to active-duty and retired Sailors and Marines, their eligible family members, and survivors.
“Our partnership with Vet Tix will offer an additional resource to help our clients improve personal financial skills and encourage individual financial responsibility,” said Captain Shelley Marshall, USN (Ret), NMCRS Vice President for Development and Communications. “Not only will this partnership relieve some of the financial burdens from members of the Navy and Marine Corps community, but will also provide them with the opportunity to strengthen bonds with their families and peers by attending a great event.”
Since 2008, Vet Tix has distributed over 2.5 million tickets to service members and veterans of all eras and military branches for nationwide events ranging from professional sports games to concerts and comedy shows. NMCRS has been a valuable resource for many military families and celebrated its 113th anniversary on January 23, 2017.
“We have a strong commitment at Vet Tix to provide the military community with an experience that can be spent with loved ones without the financial stressor that many military families face,” said Mike Focareto, CEO and Founder of Vet Tix. “We believe those who have given so much to serve our country deserve an enjoyable event that does not come with a large price tag.”
Service members and veterans, including those who served in the Navy and Marine Corps, can become Vet Tixers at no cost by registering online. Once verified, they can request tickets to events of interest to them. Learn more about services offered by NMCRS through their web site.
ABOUT THE VETERAN TICKETS FOUNDATION
Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation supporting our military community. Vet Tix provides free event tickets to currently serving military, veterans and family members of those killed in action to sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities. Military and veterans experience many difficult transitions as they reintegrate into their families, communities, and eventually, into civilian life. Attending events improves morale, strengthens family bonds through shared interest and encourages service members to stay engaged with local communities and American life. In gratitude for their service and to support their reintegration, Vet Tix is dedicated to giving back to those who gave so much. Visit VetTix.org to learn more. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
