UNC FB: UNC Partners with Vet Tix for Military Appreciation Day Nov. 12

Press Releases

GREELEY, Colo.– For the first time, the UNC Athletics Department will be partnering with the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) to help U.S. servicemen and women, veterans and their families attend Military Appreciation Day when the Bears take on the University of Montana on November 12 at Nottingham Field at noon.

Vet Tix is a non-profit organization that supports the military community by providing tickets to various events and activities to currently serving military, veterans, and their families. They have given away more than 2.27 million event tickets to verified military personnel and their dependents.

According to a 2014 report published by the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, 37,731 Coloradans are classified as active duty military, representing 3.3 percent of the total U.S. active military.

The mission of Vet Tix is to provide tickets to events, which reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, build life-long memories and encourage service members and veterans to stay engaged with local communities and American life. They support U.S. troops by honoring their service and providing positive family and life experiences, during and after their years of service to our country.

About Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix)
Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation supporting our military community. Vet Tix provides free event tickets to currently serving military, veterans and family members of those Killed-In-Action to sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities. Military and veterans experience many difficult transitions as they reintegrate into their families, communities, and eventually, into civilian life. Attending events improves morale, strengthens family bonds through shared interests and encourages service members to stay engaged with local communities and American life. In gratitude for their service and to support their reintegration, Vet Tix is dedicated to giving back to those who gave so much.
