The Classic and Vet Tix to offer veterans at least 600 tickets for Dec. 28th contest at AT&T Stadium.
ARLINGTON, TX 10/17/19 – The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic announced a new partnership with Vet Tix today to create a “Send-A-Vet” program that includes 600 game tickets distributed for free to veterans and current-serving members of the military.
“It is such an honor to partner with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic which has such a rich history of great college games and championships,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Vet Tix. “This collaboration will provide opportunities for all our current serving military and veterans of all eras to experience one of most sought after tickets in football. For many, experiences like this bowl game create unforgettable memories and smiles for their family and friends which impact our VetTixers by making them feel appreciated by and connected to their community.”
Vet Tix will serve as the presenting sponsor of the pregame National Anthem celebration at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. As part of the festivities, the Cotton Bowl has purchased a new full-field 100-yard flag and 100 veterans will participate in the flag-holding ceremony. Additionally, a veteran will present the official game ball to the game officials.
“We are thrilled to partner with Vet Tix and support their Send-A-Vet program,” Rick Baker, President/CEO of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic said. “This partnership will create so many great opportunities for those that have served or continue to protect our freedom both at home and abroad. This program will only accentuate the strong ties North Texas has with our military.”
Vet Tix provides tickets to events to help reduce stress, strengthen family bonds and provide life-long memories. Since its inception 11+ years ago, Vet Tix has provided more than eight million tickets to active and former military members. The sponsorship is for a three-year term and begins this year with the 84th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on Saturday, Dec. 28th at 11 a.m. CT. The Classic is the lead-in to the College Football Playoff Semifinals on ESPN.
