NEW “JIMMY” TRAILER PREMIERES AT JIMMY STEWART MUSEUM

Earlier today, the new trailer for the film “Jimmy” premiered at the Jimmy Stewart Museum.

The film starring KJ Apa as the Indiana native and academy award winner will focus on Jimmy’s life from when he won the Academy Award for “The Philadelphia Story” to his military career during World War II and his return to movies with “It’s A Wonderful Life”.

Director Aaron Burns talked why the film is important today, and said he sees a lot of similarities between today and the time period the film will focus on.

Apa did a lot of research to prepare for the role, but said that he was most daunted by how he would transform himself into Stewart, especially his iconic voice.

Jimmy’s daughter Kelly Stewart-Harcourt served as Executive Producer of the film.  She also talked about her visit to the film set in Ireland where she got to be more a part of the movie.Audio Player

Also at today’s event, State Representative Jim Struzzi read the official proclamation from the State House making today Jimmy Stewart Day in Pennsylvania, and donations were made to Vet Tix to get tickets for service members, veterans, first responders and gold star families to see the film for free.

The film debuts on November 6th in theaters.  To build more excitement for the film, a new exhibit with behind the scenes stories, props and costumes also made its debut at the museum.
