Armed Services YMCA and Veteran Tickets Foundation Announce Partnership

Press Releases

Springfield, Va. – The Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) today announced a new partnership with Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), a national nonprofit that provides free event tickets to service members and veterans. The partnership seeks to provide military families with opportunities to receive sports and entertainment event tickets free of charge with a very small delivery fee.

To date, Vet Tix has provided more than two million tickets to service members, veterans and their families from all branches of the military. Vet Tix distributes tickets to professional and collegiate sporting events, concerts, NASCAR, performing arts and family activities in all 50 states.

“The Armed Services YMCA is excited about connecting our military members and their families with the variety of event tickets provided by Vet Tix,” said William French, President | CEO, Armed Services YMCA. “This program aligns well with our mission of Making Military Life Easier and with 95% of their funding going directly to their programs, this partnership aligns well with our financial stewardship goals.”

“Where there are empty seats, Vet Tix seeks to fill them with people who have served our country and their families. Giving an event ticket is an expression of appreciation and recognition that honors the service of the troops today and long after their tour of duty has passed,” said Mike Focareto, CEO and Founder, Vet Tix. “Attending these events helps veterans reduce stress through entertainment, strengthen family bonds, build life long memories, and encourage them to stay engaged with American life and local communities.”

Thank you for a wonderful evening of beautiful music all from the comfort of my living room. That was very generous of you, Jim Brickman to give so many military members the opportunity to relax to your soothing music. It was a great way to end the weekend.
