1st Tix Celebrates One Year Serving First Responders

Press Releases

Nearly 75,000 First Responders Have Joined 1st Tix

[PHOENIX, AZ, August 27—] 1st Tix, launched by the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) in August 2018, has now served almost 75,000 of our nation’s first responders, including current and retired law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs and 911 dispatchers.

America’s first responders are a dedicated group of individuals made up of more than two million firefighters, EMTs, 911 dispatchers and law enforcement officers. In just one year, 1st Tix has provided thousands of tickets to sporting events, concerts, performing arts, family activities, and more, nationwide. More than thirty percent of first responders have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder, like depression and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, with eighty four percent citing they have encountered trauma on the job. 1st Tix is honored to provide these opportunities for first responders to as a way to thank them by assisting them in strengthening family bonds, creating positive memories and encouraging engagement with the communities they serve with affordable access to events.

“We’re thrilled to have served this community of first responders over the past year,” said Michael Focareto, Veteran Tickets Foundation founder and CEO. “Over the past eleven years, we’ve seen an excellent response from the veteran and military community, one we’re honored to see matched in this first responder community. The thousands of testimonials we’ve received attest to the power of community and family connection in relieving stress. Our goal has been, and will continue to be, to serve first responders as a way to thank them as they keep our families and communities safe each and every day.”

To receive tickets, first responders can sign up at www.1stTix.org, verify their eligibility and request tickets to events that interest them and their families. All requests are filtered through the 1st Tix lottery system, and those receiving the tickets will pay a small delivery fee to claim their tickets.
