Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) and Operation Homefront Partner to Support Veterans and Their Families at Community Events

Press Releases

PHOENIX, AZ – Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) and Operation Homefront announced that they have partnered to expand both organizations’ services for the military community, offering opportunities for active duty, veterans, and their families to participate in local events with free tickets. Vet Tix and Operation Homefront share a commitment to provide ongoing support for military personnel and their families and to positively contribute to the military communities’ overall well-being.

Vet Tix has served the military community since 2008 with resources and opportunity for reintegration through community-based events. Through the Tickets for Troops program, veterans, service members and families of those killed in action can sign up to receive free tickets to sporting events, concerts, the performing arts as well as many other communities and family events nationwide.  Since its founding, Vet Tix has distributed more than 3.2 million tickets to more than 600,000 verified VetTixers.

In a major survey released by Vet Tix in May, service members and veterans find that participating in events in their community eases the transition from military to civilian life and improves their overall well-being. Vet Tix understands the importance of providing for service members and veterans and will work with Operation Homefront to increase the number of opportunities and benefits available to our service members and their families.

“Operation Homefront is excited to partner with Vet Tix to help provide additional opportunities for America’s military families to thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., President, and CEO of Operation Homefront.  “When military families are able to access special events in their area, they accomplish two key objectives:  strengthening their connections to their community, and building lasting memories as a family.”

Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families so they can thrive — not simply struggle to get by — in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. In the last 15 years, Operation Homefront has provided more than $21 million in critical financial assistance, fulfilling nearly 37,000 requests from nearly 15,000 military families across the U.S.

“We understand the obstacles that many military families encounter,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Vet Tix. “Our goal is to alleviate the stressors these families experience and provide an opportunity for growth and reintegration through community events. This partnership will allow us to give back to even more military personnel and their families who need it most.”

By connecting the American donor community to military families through a robust array of valued and life-changing programs, Operation Homefront is able to help military families overcome many of the challenges inherent in military life. Vet Tix and Operation Homefront are committed to ensuring military families have the resources needed to be stronger, more stable and more secure.
