January 19, 2017, PHOENIX, AZ – Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), a national non-profit that provides free event tickets to service members, veterans, and Gold Star family members, today announced that it has surpassed 500,000 registered and verified Vet Tixers.
Since 2008, Vet Tix has provided Vet Tixers living all over the country with tickets to attend sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities. More than 2.6 million free tickets have been handed out with only a small delivery fee through Vet Tix’s Tickets for Troops program.
“We are so grateful to have reached this milestone of 500,000 registered Vet Tixers,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Vet Tix. “In 2017, we are focused on doing more of the same: providing more Vet Tixers from all branches and eras of the military with more opportunities to attend events that help them overcome tight budgets while developing renewed ties with their communities.”
“None of this would be possible without the generous help of our donors, numerous strategic partners, and our nation’s heroes, including those family members and caregivers who support them.”
In addition to strengthening family bonds and building memories, providing opportunities to participate in live entertainment can help service members and veterans reduce stress and encourage them to stay engaged with local communities and American life.
The wounds of war, both mental and physical, can stay with veterans the rest of their lives. Giving to veterans and supporting the transitions back into their families and communities, is a gift of gratitude in which we all can take part. Vet Tix accepts donations of both money and tickets through its website. To learn more about Vet Tix and the Tickets for Troops program, visit http://vettix.org/
