Spread The Word: Military + Vets = Free Event Admission From ‘Brown Paper Tickets Salutes’
More than $1 million in entertainment tickets have been donated to military families by event organizers and ticket buyers in California and 47 other states who used Brown Paper Tickets’ ticket donation program, Brown Paper Tickets Salutes.
The Not-Just-For-Profit ticketing service created a simple way for everyone to say “thank you” on Veterans Day by donating or purchasing extra tickets that are electronically delivered to those with verified U.S. military service.
Sharing Brown Paper Tickets Salutes on social media is another simple way to celebrate Veterans Day by encouraging every military family to claim event tickets that are donated year-round.
Tickets to music festivals, cooking classes, comic book conventions, sporting events, comedy shows, farm-to-table dinners, plays, concerts, burlesque festivals, roller derby bouts and much more have been a part of the $1 million donation.
“The donation of more than $1 million in tickets demonstrates the generosity of Brown Paper Tickets event organizers and ticket buyers,” said William S. Jordan, president and CTO of Brown Paper Tickets. “We are honored to be the only ticketing company in the world to offer this simple but meaningful way for anyone to say ‘thank you’ to those who have served.”
“These free tickets mean everything to veterans, some of whom tell us that this is the first time anyone has ever said ‘thank you’ for their service,” said Michael A. Focareto, a U.S. Navy veteran and the chief executive officer and founder of Veteran Tickets Foundation, also known as Vet Tix, a nonprofit dedicated to matching donated tickets with U.S. military and their families.
Vet Tix verifies military service records, giving ticket donors through Brown Paper Tickets the confidence of knowing that their gift will be enjoyed only by those who served.
Active U.S. military, veterans, their immediate families and the immediate family members of those who gave their lives in U.S. military service are encouraged to sign up and browse events offering them donated tickets through Brown Paper Tickets Salutes at http://community.brownpapertickets.com/LP/BPTsalutes/.
