Vet Tix Reaches 1.5 Million Tickets Milestone

Phoenix, Ariz. – August 11, 2015 – Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), a national nonprofit that provides free event tickets to the U.S. military community, announces that as of today it has delivered 1.5 million tickets.

Vet Tix started in 2008 and distributed 1,290 tickets in Phoenix that year.  In July 2014, the foundation celebrated its millionth ticket giveaway to U.S. Army veteran Jason Ohanian to a Diamondbacks baseball game.  In the last 12 months, Vet Tix has delivered 500,000 more tickets.  And the number of Vet Tix users has grown from 175,000 to 280,000.

Vet Tix supports all branches of currently serving military, veterans and their families as well as the immediate families of those killed in action, and it has events in all 50 states.  In addition to providing free tickets to sporting events, Vet Tix distributes tickets to concerts, performing arts and family activities.  Giving event tickets is an expression of appreciation and recognition that we honor the service of our troops today and long after their tour of duty has passed.

Vet Tix works with many college and professional sport teams within the NHL, NFL, NBA, WNBA and MLB, in addition to NASCAR, concert and entertainment promoters.  Where there are empty seats, Vet Tix seeks to fill them with people who have served our country and their families.  Season ticket holders can give back to our veterans by donating their tickets to Vet Tix for games they can’t attend.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of so many ticket donors and supporters who have been paramount to our tremendous growth of 500,000 tickets in one year,” said U.S. Navy veteran Mike Focareto, founder and CEO of the Veteran Tickets Foundation.

“Seven years ago, as I looked around the stadium at a football game, I saw a number of empty seats,” Focareto said.  “I wondered at the time of how many veterans were missing out on that ‘All-American’ experience for which they sacrificed.  Vet Tix was born that day and it has grown into a thriving word-of-mouth program benefitting thousands of military families.”

About Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix)

Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation supporting our military community. Vet Tix provides free event tickets to currently serving military, veterans and family members of those killed in action to sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities. Our military and veterans experience many difficult transitions as they reintegrate into their families, communities, and eventually, into civilian life. Attending events improves morale, strengthens family bonds through shared interests and encourages service members to stay engaged with local communities and American life. In gratitude for their service and to support their reintegration, Vet Tix is dedicated to giving back to those who gave us so much. Donations are eligible for tax deductions. 50th Anniversary of the Eagles and I was able to take my mom to see them for her birthday. Live Nation and VETTIX made this incredible opportunity possible. The show was fantastic, the opportunity amazing, and the family memory of a lifetime. Live Nation, THANK YOU for continuing your wonderfully dedication to veterans and for giving us a great evening.

Thank You Art Colony Association - for the Tickets you Donated to attend the Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park from Friday 25 March to Sunday 27 March 2022. We enjoyed the festivities along with some great art provided by the great artists. To make things even better, the weather was on our side as well. This is the second Bayou City Art Festival that we've had the chance to attend, and I can say that it's gotten better each time. All the artists displayed great pieces of various styles and themes. This was a great opportunity for them as well as the guest to get a glimpse of what great artwork looks like. We look forward to more such occasions and hope that you continue to do the great job you do. Keep up the excellent work. Thanks again, Art Colony Association and Vet Tix for making this happen!
