A blockbuster bill is set for the nation’s biggest birthday. America250 has announced that Chris Stapleton and The Smashing Pumpkins will take the stage for America’s Block Party at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on July 4, with Queen Latifah hosting. Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks. The landmark concert celebrates Giving 4th, America250’s new national initiative calling on Americans to add the act of giving back to their celebration through pledges for charitable donations.
Tickets, priced at a symbolic $17.76, go on sale June 16 at 10am PDT. To honor their service, 5,000 complimentary tickets will be donated to first responders, veterans, and active-duty service members, claimable through VetTix, a free program connecting those who serve with live events. Fans can also download the official America’s Block Party app to find a nearby block party, access the livestream, and take part in Giving 4th.
The Los Angeles show serves as the anchor of a nationwide, sea-to-shining-sea celebration and a unifying call for Americans to pledge support for a cause they care about. As official host, Queen Latifah will guide audiences through the night, connecting performances, stories of impact, and moments of national pride in an event designed to inspire generosity across the country.
Latifah is ready for the moment. Los Angeles knows how to put on a show, she says, and hosting America’s Block Party at the LA Coliseum is going to be something special, a chance to celebrate a once-in-a-generation milestone with great music, real energy, and a purpose that reaches far beyond the stadium.
Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin feels the weight of it too. Playing the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on July 4 for America’s 250th is a rare kind of moment, he says. The band has always believed in music as a unifying principle that brings people together and gives them a common destination, and he sees the night as a chance to take part in a celebration with meaning, history, and impact.
The day builds well before the music starts. A pre-event Block Party Village with music, giveaways, and free food and drink opens to ticket holders at 3pm PDT, with the live concert beginning at 6pm PDT and culminating in a fireworks and drone spectacular. The Los Angeles event anchors Giving 4th as its centerpiece, connecting the West Coast to a nationwide celebration that kicks off on the East Coast with the July 3 Ball Drop at One Times Square.
The reach extends across the country. Additional America’s Block Party locations include Summerfest in Milwaukee, Fort Campbell Festival in Kentucky, and SC250 Charleston, with celebrations in Boston and Philadelphia coming soon. To ensure measurable impact, America250 is collaborating with GivingTuesday, the global generosity movement, to track charitable donations nationwide.
