Veteran Tickets Foundation Serves Those Who Serve Our Nation

Press Releases

PHOENIX, July 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Patriots giving back to patriots, saying thank you to our country’s military personnel, veterans and their families is what Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) does every day.

Vet Tix is a five-year-old national nonprofit organization that collects donated tickets to shows, sporting events and concerts and distributes them via its web site exclusively to active U.S. service members, veterans and their families, including families of those who lost their lives serving our country.

To date, more than 950,000 tickets have been given out. Partnering with major sports teams, leagues, colleges, promoters, organizations and individual season ticket holders, Vet Tix fills seats that would otherwise go empty.

“I’m really honored to help Vet Tix out and the feedback we have gotten from them has been wonderful,” said Michael Vlock a season ticket holder for the New York Yankees. “I am thrilled to provide this sort of special evening for someone to enjoy and who better to give them to than the veterans.”

“Every day in every city there are events with empty seats that could be filled by those who served or are serving in the armed forces,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Veteran Tickets Foundation and U.S. Navy veteran.

“Tickets are a win-win for vets and venues. The vets and their families win by getting free tickets to events they might not otherwise be able to afford,” said Focareto. “The venues win by filling more seats, and of course, sports teams and performers enjoy playing to a full house,” he added.

“Vet Tix also gives service members opportunities to stay engaged with civilian life, enrich their experiences, improve morale, reduce stress and pursue happiness,” said Focareto.

Ticket donations are tax deductible by the donor and Vet Tix actively seeks out organizations and individuals willing to give tickets to say thank you and help create a memory for a service member and his or her family. (To donate click here)

About Veteran Tickets Foundation

Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) is a national 501(c) (3) nonprofit foundation supporting our military community. Vet Tix provides free event tickets to currently serving military, veterans and family members of those killed in action to sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities. Our military and veterans experience many difficult transitions as they reintegrate into their families, communities, and eventually, into civilian life. Attending events improves morale, strengthens family bonds through shared interests and encourages service members to stay engaged with local communities and American life. In gratitude for their service and to support their reintegration, Vet Tix is dedicated to giving back to those who gave us so much.
