Vet Tix and Semper Fi Fund unite to increase awareness of resources available to military community

Press Releases

Collaboration will bring more exposure to financial and community support provided

PHOENIX, AZ – Today, Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) and Semper Fi Fund announced that the two organizations will be collaborating to enhance awareness around the resources and support that both organizations provide to currently serving military personnel, veterans and their families.

Vet Tix provides veterans, service members, caregivers and family of those killed in action with free tickets to major sports games, concerts, and a diverse mix of other ticketed events, supporting community reintegration and personal health and happiness. Vet Tix is open to veterans, service members, caregivers and family of those killed in action, and to all branches and eras of service.

The Semper Fi Fund provides immediate financial and emotional support to post-9/11 wounded and critically ill members of all branches of the military through family support, sports programs, education, career transitioning, and more.

Both national nonprofits share a commitment to provide top-quality experiences and resources to the military community. The collaboration will help spread awareness and increase access to both organizations’ range of services—including financial assistance, opportunities for reintegration, and recovery within the community—across their respective networks and to those who are eligible to sign up.

“We are excited to join forces with Vet Tix to provide an expression of gratitude to our country’s heroes and their family members,” said Semper Fi Fund President, Executive Director and Founder Karen Guenther. “Vet Tix provides more than just free tickets to events — they provide opportunities for our service members and veterans and their families to enjoy a positive experience that they can all enjoy together. These events and outings provide constructive outlets that help create happy, lasting memories for years to come.”

Since its inception in 2004, the Semper Fi Fund has awarded more than $145 million in assistance to more than 18,500 service members.

“Our military and their families shoulder many burdens of stress and sacrifice. Whether it be financial or physical, several service members and military veterans experience difficult challenges as they reintegrate into their families, communities, and civilian life,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Vet Tix. “At Vet Tix, we provide those necessary opportunities for peer-reintegration and unique ways to reduce stress at little to no cost. Bringing awareness to the programs that we offer and the resources from Semper Fi Fund, will support even more individuals in the military community.”

Vet Tix has over 500,000 registered VetTixers around the nation and has distributed more than 2.8 million tickets since 2008, charging only a minimal service fee to cover processing and delivery costs.
