Notre Dame and Vet Tix are providing complimentary athletics tickets to United States servicemen
The University of Notre Dame athletics department has begun a partnership with the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) that will provide complimentary tickets to Irish athletic events to former and active United States servicemen and women and their families. The program supports the University’s longstanding relationship with the various military branches.
Notre Dame will designate quantities of tickets available by request for a variety of Irish athletics home events. Those tickets are then made available to Vet Tix to distribute to its network of more than 200,000 verified veterans and dependents.
To commemorate Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11, Irish home event tickets will be available for the Nov. 13 men’s basketball home opener against St. Francis (Pa.), the Nov. 14 football season finale against Wake Forest and the Nov. 15 women’s basketball home opener versus Bucknell. Tickets for additional basketball games and other home events also will be made available at later dates.
Vet Tix, a non-profit organization that supports the military community by providing tickets to various events and activities to currently serving military, veterans, and their families, has given away more than 1.6 million event tickets to verified military personnel and their dependents since 2008.
By providing free tickets to “socially interactive events,” Vet Tix aims to “reduce stress through entertainment, strengthen family bonds, build life-long memories, and encouraging service members to stay engaged with American life and local communities.” Visit the organizational Web site www.VetTix.org for more details.
ABOUT VET TIX

Vet Tix provides free event tickets to currently serving military, veterans and family members of KIA to sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities. Our military and veterans experience many difficult transitions as they reintegrate back into their families, their communities and eventually civilian life. Attending these events improves morale, strengthens family bonds through shared interests and encourages service members to stay engaged with local communities and American life.
