FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alexandria, Va. – The National Military Family Association (NMFA), a nonprofit that works to strengthen and protect military families, announced today a new partnership with Veteran Ticket Foundation, (Vet Tix), a national nonprofit that provides free event tickets to service members and veterans. The partnership seeks to provide military families with opportunities to receive sports and entertainment event tickets free of charge.
“We are really excited to be working with Vet Tix to help provide military families the opportunity to attend events they may not otherwise be able to afford,” said NMFA Executive Director, Joyce Wessel Raezer. “Our military families give up so much and being able to give them a chance to attend events in their area and spend a little time just enjoying the town where they are currently living means so much.”
Since 2008, Vet Tix has provided more than two million tickets to service members, veterans and their families from all branches of the military. Vet Tix distributes tickets to professional and collegiate sporting events, concerts, NASCAR, performing arts and family activities in all 50 states.
“Where there are empty seats, Vet Tix seeks to fill them with people who have served our country and their families. Giving an event ticket is an expression of appreciation and recognition that honors the service of the troops today and long after their tour of duty has passed,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Vet Tix. “Attending these events helps veterans reduce stress through entertainment, strengthen family bonds, build life long memories, and encourage them to stay engaged with American life and local communities.”
